It is Wednesday and that means it is challenge day at Papercraft Star! This week's challenge is to create a project using a song title or book or movie as your inspiration! The sky's the limit here, friends, and I look forward to seeing all of your creations this week!
I've got a trifecta here because one of my favorite books is also one of my favorite movies and soundtracks - Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil! In the 1990s, I had the great fortune of traveling to Savannah a number of times on business and loved every minute of it! Yes, I ate at The Lady & Sons and even bought my cookbook at the restaurant. I heart Paula Deen even if my arteries don't, lol! Savannah is such a beautiful city yet haunting in some ways, just like it is portrayed in the film.
I chose the lacy label and garden sentiment in honor of the movie but decided to lighten up the darker tone of the story by using light, springy colors. With the sun shining here in San Francisco this week, it is hard to feel gloomy at all!
Have fun with this challenge and don't forget to vote! Yes, you get to choose the winners and there are always fun prizes to be had!
Supplies: Stamps - Very Vintage Labels 10, Asian Gardens/Additions (WMS), DP - Once Upon a Springtime (G45), Card Stock/Ribbon -Certainly Celery (SU!), Ink - Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip (SU!), Stickles

Hi Jen,
ReplyDeleteThis is such a lovely spring card this way, no haunting feelings here anymore, hi hi. Haven't heard about this book or movie yet, but you've made me curious, so I'll ask my big friend Google to help me out on this one, hi hi! The sun is also shining here, pretty blue skies! (but only 4 degrees Celsius when you go outside ;-)
Hugs, Wendy
I heart Paula Deen too!!! Great card Jen, love the colors!
ReplyDeleteI'm soooo jealous. I love Paula Deen. Would love to eat at her restaurant. The sentiment on your card matches the movie so well. Beautiful card.
ReplyDeleteOMG, your gallery is sooooo beautiful! Totally love your style, can't wait to see more :)
ReplyDeleteI was just watching Paula today and lusting after that chocolate lava cake she and her guest were making. Yeeuummm! I love the WM stamp you used. It's so cool that they coordinate with the Spellbinders. Lovely card Jen!
ReplyDeleteI love Paula Dean! I haver her set of pots & pans. What a pretty card. I love the peachy patterned paper, it really allows the green to pop. Very nice!

Great card Jen. I have enjoyed visits to Savanah and I heart Paula Deen too. The movie rocked and I love how you used bright and springy colors to contrast with the dark themes of the movie - well done!
ReplyDeleteI have never been to Savannah, it is one place I would love to see. Love the light, friendly colors you have chosen !
ReplyDeleteI am so feeling the spring vibe from your card. I have never seen the movie though...will have to add to my Netflix. And I've never been to Savannah, so I am definitely missing out!
