12 Days of Holiday Inspiration - Day 12!

We made it, friends!  Welcome to the 12th and final day of the final event brought to you by the Inspiration Crew!  A huge thank you to Donna for leading this effort and keeping all of us on track over the past couple of years!  :)

This final card was made using some patterned kraft card stock I layered over a burgundy card base.  I die cut and stamped the pinecones and sprig and finished the card with a greeting sticker and some wooden snowflakes

Thanks so much for visiting!  I hope you enjoyed these 12 Days as much as I have!

12 Days of Holiday Inspiration - Day 11!

Hello friends and welcome to day eleven of the Inspiration Crew's Holiday Inspiration blog event!  We're in the home stretch now - have you been wrapping up your crafty holiday projects?

This is a fun tag where I stamped a sentiment onto a piece of plaid paper and layered that atop a kraft tag (I'm realizing I used a lot of kraft this year!)  I stamped two graduated poinsettias, pieced them, and layered them atop one another.  I adhered the poinsettia onto the tag and gave it a few pearls for the center.

Thanks so much for visiting!  Have a great day and I will see you back here tomorrow for our final day!

12 Days of Holiday Inspiration - Day 10!

Hello friends and welcome to day ten of the Inspiration Crew's Holiday Inspiration blog event!

I had a wonderful opportunity to attend a class taught by Anna Corba last week at a local craft store and we made 12 Days of Christmas tags!  I don't have all of them finished yet but thought I'd give you a peek at a few now and share the rest later this month when I get them done.  It was such a fun night crafting with some wonderful women and just getting inky on a "school night" away from the house was a real treat!  A huge thanks to my hubby for agreeing to go solo on bath night!  :)

The bases are tags that were tea-dyed and the little pocket were made of tea-dyed teabags which we simply glued on three sides and attached to the tags.  The stamps were a vintage set Anna had of the 12 days of Christmas and I wish I could have that set!  We embellished the tags with greenery, pieced images, and vintage trims.  It was such a fun project!

Thanks so much for visiting!  Have a great day and I will see you back here tomorrow!

12 Days of Holiday Inspiration - Day 9!

Hello friends and welcome to day nine of the Inspiration Crew's Holiday Inspiration blog event!

You've seen my reindeer tag already and this is the card I ended up making when I stamped the extra reindeer I talked about the other day.  I stamped a striped background stamp onto a sheet of vellum using silver ink and layered in on a kraft card base for a subtle look.  I layered the pieced reindeer on top and gave them some metallic noses.  I finished the card with some twine and a sentiment greeting.

Thanks so much for visiting!  Have a great day and I will see you back here tomorrow!

12 Days of Holiday Inspiration - Day 8!

Hello friends and welcome to day eight of the Inspiration Crew's Holiday Inspiration blog event!  I hope some of our posts have inspired you to get crafty this season - I know I sure am!  Now if I only had more hours in the day...

So, you've heard me yammer about taking advantage of scraps and extras and when I made the card with this paper that I showed you a couple of days ago, I couldn't very well just let the scraps sit in the paper pack for another year so I made this little tag with them.  Layered a sentiment sticker on the bottom and a few gold sequins on top.  Easy peasy!

Here is a list of the other participants in this event - I can't wait to see what crafty goodness they have to share with us this week!  :)

12 Days of Holiday Inspiration - Day 7!

Hello friends and welcome to day seven of the Inspiration Crew's Holiday Inspiration blog event!

This is another relatively simple card that would be easy to mass produce for the holidays!  In the "what came first?" question for this card, the answer was the bells.  As I mentioned yesterday, sometimes I just stamp something I like over and over again in different colors if I know I will be able to use it.  During the holidays, I know I will use those bells - on gift bags, cards, tags, and gift packaging!  I pieced the bells, layered them together and then added the gold twine bow.  Once that was done, I went through my stash of Christmas papers to see what would match.  Risky maybe, but the bells were in shades of poppy/red so I knew it wouldn't be a problem!  I found some paper and a coordinating sentiment sticker and, well, Bob's your uncle!

12 Days of Holiday Inspiration - Day 6!

Hello friends and welcome to day six of the Inspiration Crew's Holiday Inspiration blog event - halfway through and I just love what I've been seeing!

Today's tag was born of "leftovers" - a wonderful thing to take advantage of when crafty time is compressed!  I stamped a number of these reindeer for a card idea that didn't pan out exactly as I envisioned it (you'll see the card next week...) so I had some leftover and built this tag around one of these cuties.  I layered some patterned paper and a sticker strip onto a kraft tag and then added the pieced reindeer.  I gave him a metallic nose and finished the tag with some twine and a fun puff ball.

Here is a list of the other participants in this event - I can't wait to see what crafty goodness they have to share with us this week!  :)

12 Days of Holiday Inspiration - Day 5!

Hello friends and welcome to day five of the Inspiration Crew's Holiday Inspiration blog event!

For my project today, I decided to make a card that would be pretty easy to replicate for mass production and flat for mailing (well, it was flat until I decided it needed a Santa brad, lol!)  I started off with a pink card base and layered some patterned papers.  I layered a coordinating label sticker on top that I stamped with a Christmas sentiment.  I had some coordinating banners and added one the the bottom of the card as well as that little Santa.

12 Days of Holiday Inspirations - Day 4!

Hello friends and welcome to day four of the Inspiration Crew's Holiday Inspiration blog event!

For my project today, I embellished a little gift bag!  I picked up a pack of decorative gift bags from Paper Source the other day and thought I could do a little embellishing with some stamps and some Stickles!  I stamped the label onto craft card stock using white craft ink and then added some Stickles for some pizzaz.  I then stamped the little holly berries/leaves and added some red Stickles for the berries.  I stamped "noel" in the center of the label and adhered the whole thing onto the gift bag.  An easy way to customize something store-bought for the holidays!

Have a great day and I will see you back here tomorrow!

Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine Special Thanks Blog Hop (and 12 Days - Day 3!)

Hello friends!  Today is a bittersweet day as we say farewell to Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine!  A huge thank you to all who organized this hop event and I can't wait to see everyone's creations!  If you're here from Katie's blog, you're in the right spot.  If not, head over to Jennifer's blog to get started!

It is a bit fitting that my last published card with Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking (shown above) was from this year's Holiday Cards & More (vol.9) as the first card I had published with PC&S was in the same issue, volume 5 back in 2010.  I was so excited to be picked, I could hardly stand it!  It was only the 2nd card I ever had published and it felt great!

I'd had a number of cards picked up by PC&S over the years and loved the "happy mail" and the parties on Facebook where Virginia always had some good virtual tunes for us to listen to and Susan always kept us in the loop about where she was with delivering her good news of the day.  Unfortunately I had to stop submitting from about 2013 onward as I lost my crafty mojo when I was pregnant with Amelia and had almost no crafty time after she was born.  Ironically, now that she's older and I'm finding myself with some more time, there is nowhere to submit for publication.  I am so disappointed that this wonderful community that I've spent so much time with feels like it is going away.  I guess it is up to all of us now, to maintain the friendships and the creativity that let this blossom over the past 5 years the way it has.  This is a wonderful, creative industry and I've been so blessed to be a part of it.

Thank you, PC&S!  Thank you Susan and Cath for inspiring me for so many years!  Thank you Go-To Gals for making crafting so much fun!

Next up is Cecilia!  Thank you so much for visiting today and I'll be back tomorrow with another post of Holiday Inspiration!

12 Days of Holiday Inspiration - Day 2!

Hello friends and welcome to day two of the Inspiration Crew's Holiday Inspiration blog event!  I hope you had a chance to visit everyone yesterday - weren't the projects great?

For my card today, I dove into some patterned papers and used a piece of green paper with a bokeh light effect - I love that look!  I layered a piece of vellum over the top with a forest pattern and finished the card with a little stag label, some black and gold twine, and a few sequins.  Fun card and a little different type of project from me.  I like the way it turned out!

Have a great day and I will see you back here tomorrow!

12 Days of Holiday Inspiration - Day 1!

Hello friends and welcome to the final event of the Inspiration Crew - the 12 Days of Holiday Inspiration Blog Event!  We're a group of online crafty friends who love being creative.  This time we're doing a 12-day event to provide you with tons of holiday inspiration and some of us are even offering prizes - I am!  Make sure you check each blog for what prizes are being offered and when winners will be announced.

For my first project, I have a couple of tree tags that I made with large banner stamps - simple!  I just stamped the banner images and cut them out, backed the stamped images onto another die cut piece of chipboard, layering a black pipe cleaner "trunk" in between and gluing it into place.  I decorated the trees with some sequins, glass glitter stars, and some chipboard stickers.

The prize I am offering is an assortment of Maya Road goodies - a canvas album, some gauze flowers, and some alterable trinkets.  I will choose one random commenter over the next 12 days and will announce the winner on the 15th of this month.

Finally, before I go, I realize I haven't shared many photos of Amelia lately - mainly because our photo storage is all messed up and I don't have many on my laptop where I do my blog posting.  So, without further ado, here she is, hanging out in mommy's office in the big, twirly chair.  She loves it!  pickup sticks (she found her bag of goodies for daddy's stocking) and some glass glitter.  Bad mama...
Have a great day and I will see you back here tomorrow!
