Happy Birthday Wishes

Today I've got a fun card that I made using my wonderful new Rubbernecker Stamps for the CR84FN color challenge this week!

I stamped the sentiment square and die cut around it with a square die, added the scalloped square as a background and layered it over two pretty patterned papers. There is a touch of glitter on both papers that doesn't show up very well in the photo but it adds some subtle shimmer to the card. I finished the card with a pretty white bow.

Supplies: Stamps - Happy Birthday Square (RN), DP - Citrus Stack (DCWV), Ink - Basic Black (SU!), Cardstock - Select White (PTI), Cuttlebug, Dies (Spellbinders), Foam Squares, Ribbon (Crafta)

July Cards Magazine Publication (and an Announcement!)

Today I've got a card to show you that is featured in the July 2011 issue of Cards Magazine! I adore this card and was so excited it was picked up for publication! Those bright yellow wellies would cheer anyone up, don't you think? :)

I stamped the wellies, cut them out, and clipped them together with a mini clothespin. I stamped the umbrella onto some pretty paper, cut it out, and adhered it to the card using foam squares for dimension. I stamped the little raindrops, umbrella handle, and sentiment directly on the cream card base. I finished the card with a wee bow made of baker's twine.

Now for my announcement - I've been asked to be a member of the Design Team for the Kraft Outlet! As a big fan of kraft products, shipping tags, and the like, I am thrilled to get to use these wonderful products! Head over to the blog (Kraft Journal) for some inspiration and a fun challenge every week. If you like kraft like I do, you'll love to play over there with us!

Supplies: Stamps - Scattered Showers/Additions (PTI), Cardstock - Vintage Cream (PTI), Ink - YoYo Yellow, Brocade Blue, Basic Black, Riding Hood Red (SU!), DP - Citrus Stack (DCWV), Baker's Twine (Country Clean), Clothespin (Hero Arts)

Celebrate

Happy Monday! Today I have a fun, patriotic card in honor of the upcoming 4th of July and also to take advantage of some new Bo Bunny papers I just bought! :)

I stamped the celebrate banner stamp from the Stampin' D'Amour Fabulous Birthday set on to one piece of paper, cut each of the little pennants out, and attached them all to some red and white baker's twine. I attached the banner with two coordinating chipboard star stickers and finished the card with a chipboard sticker of the USA.

Supplies: Stamps - Fabulous Birthday (SDA), DP/Embellishments - Liberty Collection (Bo Bunny), Twine (Country Clean), Cardstock - Not Quite Navy (SU!), Ink - Basic Black (SU!)

Hurrah!

Happy Saturday and welcome to the first of another year of wonderful Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenges! Today we have a goodie from WMS DT member, Belinda -
I stamped the card base with one of the stamps from Text-It in white ink, stamped three banners from Bitty Banners on to three different colors of felt and stamped the banner hanger image (what would you call that?) as a bit of a flag pole. The whole card reminds me of summer and of flags you'd see on a boat. I love how because the felt was in a roll, the edges of the banners are a bit curled.

Have fun with the challenge this week and I can't wait to see what you all create! Don't forget that you have a chance to win your very own set of WMS just by playing along!!

Supplies: Stamps - Bitty Banners, Text It, Fancy Phrases (WMS), Cardstock - Soft Sky (SU!), Ink - Craft White, Basic Black (SU!), Staz-On, Felt (PTI), Star (Memriemare)

Mahalo

Hi friends! Today I'm so thrilled to post my first card as a memeber of the Rubbernecker Stamps Design Team! I am having so much fun with my new stamps and can't wait to show you what I come up with! The stamps are such good quality - red rubber with deep etchings and are mounted on cling foam so you can use your acrylic blocks.

I used my new Hawaiian Vine stamp, colored the flowers with Copic Markers, and added clear rhinestones to the centers. I finished the card with glittery chipboard letters to say a big "Thank You!" to Dave and team for having me!

Supplies: Stamps (RN), Cardstock - Certainly Celery, Whisper White (SU!), Copic Markers, Rhinestones (Hero Arts), Ink - Certainly Celery (SU!), Alphabet Stickers (Me and My Bright Ideas), Corner Chomper

Wishing You Sunny Days

Hi friends! I can say it finally actually feels like summer here in the city! It has been in the upper 70s the past couple of days and I've heard it may even crack 80 here today! Don't get me wrong, as much as I love to leave the house in sandals and short sleeves, after a few days of warm temps, this many people packed into such a small area will get old really quick, lol. I'm loving it now and will love hearing the fog horns just as much at the end of the week. :)

Anyway, here is a fun summery card that I made for both Get Your Diva On (I would love to design for Julee one day - she and the divas are so inspiring!!) as well as the week 2 sketch for the June Viva La Verve Challenge. I used some lovely coordinating papers from the Yacht Club collection , a stamped tag, and a little sun that I gave a cute button center to. The borders at the bottom of the card are a cardstock sticker and a fabric ribbon. Feels like summer to me!

Supplies: Stamps - Let it Shine (Verve), DP/Embellishments - Yacht Club Collection (Webster's Pages), Cardstock - Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla (SU!), Cuttlebug, Tag Die (Verve), Ink - Basic Black, Not Quite Navy (SU!), Twine (Country Clean, PTI), Foam Squares, Copic Markers

I stamped and colored this image, layered it over some school-themed papers, and finished the vintage look by using some black photo corners.

Thanks for stopping by!

Just a quick post tonight to share the card I made for this week's Tuesday Trigger based on this photo -

Hip Hip Hooray - A Year of WMSC!!

Hello friends!! Today we're celebrating a fun milestone -a year of Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenges!! In honor of the special occasion, we're having a fun challenge this week which is to pick any sketch from the last year and make a card for it! When you write up your post, please let us know which one you chose!

I decided to make another card for #18 which originally debuted back last October. Here's a link to the my first go at it and I still love that card! :) This time around I have my Vintage Banners set and I'd not gotten them inky yet (gasp!) so thought this sketch was the perfect excuse! The banners along with the lovely Webster's Pages papers/embellishments make such a pretty card! I can't wait to have occasion to send it to someone! Come on good news... :)

Have fun, pick out your favorite sketch here, and link up by next Friday for your chance to be Top Mouse and/or win your very own WMS!!

PS, for another chance at free WMS, head over to WMS DT member Julia Aston's blog for a giveway!!

Hurrah!

Happy Waltzing day, friends - if this is new to you, you're in for a real treat! Every 17th, friends of Waltzingmouse Stamps get together for a blog "waltz" around a particular theme. This month we're celebrating Americana in honor of upcoming Independence Day!
I was inspired by the red, white, and blue colors of the flag as well as checked tablecloths for summertime picnics! I stamped the card base with Gingham & Co, a label from Holiday Labels 14 and a sentiment from what is probably my most-used set, Fancy Phrases! I finished the card with a big satin ribbon and three glittery stars.

I can't wait to see what the rest of the waltzers came up with this month! Head over to the Waltzingmouse Forum to get started and I'll meet you on the dance floor!

Supplies: Stamps - Gingham & Co, Holiday Labels 14, Fancy Phrases (WMS), Cardstock - Select White (PTI), Ink - Not Quite Navy, Riding Hood Red (SU!), Silver (Encore), Stars (Memriemare), Ribbon (my stash), Foam Squares

Happy Father's Day (and an Announcement!)

Hi friends! Today I'm sharing a CAS Father's Day card I made for my step-dad! This week's challenge at Lawnscaping was to keep it simple and I sure think this one fits the bill! I used the ribbon stamp from Admit One and the alphabet from my new favorite stamp set, Harold's ABCs. How did I not have an alphabet set for such a long time?

I stamped the ribbon in silver ink on blue paper, cut it out, and popped it up with foam squares. I spelled out the sentiment with the alphabet set and stamped it on the bottom of the card. I just popped it in the mail today and think he'll love it!

And now for my big announcement - I am one of the newest members of the Rubbernecker Stamps Design Team!! I am so excited to start stamping with such a wonderful group of crafters!

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful day!

Supplies: Stamps - Admit One, Harold's ABCs (Lawn Fawn), Card Stock - Select White (PTI), Not Quite Navy (SU!), Ink - Silver (Encore), Basic Black (SU!), Foam Squares

Thinking of You

If it is Monday, it must be Stampin' D'Amour day on my blog! I just adore all of the vintage label stamps they offer and used another one for this card. This week I decided to use the color challenge at CR84FN as my inspiration -
I stamped the Vintage Typewriter in Certainly Celery, cut it out, and distressed the edges. I layered some pretty white lace and some green baker's twine to the card base and added a tag which I stamped with a sentiment from Vintage Children. I love this pink and green card - very springy/summery!

Supplies: Stamps - Vintage Typewriter, Vintage Children (SDA), Card Stock - Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White (SU!), Distrezz It All, Ink - Certainly Celery, Basic Black (SU!), Cuttlebug, Tag Die (Spellbinders), Twine (Divine Twine), Lace (May Arts), DP - Nursery Girl (DCWV)

Best Dad Ever

Hello friends! I hope you're having a wonderful weekend! I'm sure happy to be home and relaxing a bit before another work week. Crafting definitely helps! :) This card is for the Viva La Verve June Week 1 Challenge and this sketch -
For whatever reason I realized I didn't have many Father's Day stamp options so recently purchased Dad's Day and used it along with the Campfire Collection papers for this card for my dad. I have so many memories of camping with him as a kid - we were outdoors so much - that I thought the combo was perfect. I cut the oval out and added a couple of ribbons to make a medallion. After all, I think my dad is #1! :)

Supplies: Stamps - Dad's Day (Verve), DP - Campfire Collection (October Afternoon), Cardstock - Vintage Cream (PTI), Ink - Not Quite Navy, Old Olive (SU!), Tea Dye Duo (PTI), Ribbon (PTI), Cuttlebug, Dies (Spellbinders), Corner Chomper, Foam Squares

Happy Foreverness (and a new winner!)

Happy Saturday, friends! Welcome to Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #51 and our first sketch from WMS DT member, Belinda! I took the sketch and flipped it on its side to make my card this week.
One of the fun things about my trip this week was celebrating the marriage of one of my co-workers and I made this card for her. I stamped the label from Labels 10, stamped and cut out three hearts from Sweethearts and used one of my all time favorite paper collections, Dutch Girl from Cosmo Cricket. I just love the colors and even more special, Janet loved the card!

Have fun with this one and don't forget to link up by next Friday for a chance to win your very own WMS! Speaking of winners, I had to choose another winner from the OWH blog hop because (gasp!) I never heard from the one chosen! So, drumroll.... our new winner is #22 Heather Grow! Congrats Heather!!

Supplies: Stamps - Fancy Phrases, Labels 10, Sweethearts (WMS), DP - Dutch Girl Collection (Cosmo Cricket), Card Stock - Vintage Cream (PTI), Ink - Riding Hood Red, Basic Black (SU!), Cuttlebug, Dies (Spellbinders)

Friends Forever

Hello from Charlotte! This week I'm here on business and boy has it been hot! Being from San Francisco is great but we're spoiled with really temperate weather. This week I've gotten to experience 98 degrees with very high humidity. I may be a wimp but I am really not used to this heat! :)

Anyway just a quick post from me to share this card I made with the Modern Homemaker collection from October Afternoon and some adorable Lawn Fawn stamps.

Oh, I haven't heard from my winner! Dont forget to send me a note by Friday or I'll have to pick another one!

Happy for You

Hello friends! Just a quick post for today as I'm traveling on business this week. I am so grateful for the scheduling capability of Blogger (knock wood...) :)

I made this card using the vintage root beer label stamp from Stampin' D'Amour along with my new Collage papers from Cosmo Cricket! The two pair so well together and I'm in love with that vintage rose paper - kinda reminds me of wallpaper in my grandmother's house.

Have a wonderful week friends and check back for more scheduled posts from me while I'm out.

Supplies: Stamps - Vintage Root Beer Label (SDA), DP/Stickers - Collage Collection (Cosmo Cricket), Ink - Basic Black (SU!), Card Stock - Vintage Cream (PTI), Ribbon/Button (Memriemare)

Trip to the Moon

Hello friends and happy Saturday! I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately and I promise to remedy that in the very near future! I've been creating a lot of cards for various publications so while I've got a ton of cards made, I wasn't able to show any of them! Of course not all were selected so you'll be seeing a lot of new cards from me in the very near future! :) For the 50th Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge, we have this fabulous sketch by our very own Edna! Immediately when I saw it, I thought of a window frame and my card was born! I used the color palette from this week's CR84FN challenge and my amazing new papers from October Afternoon. I hand cut the window frame and stamped it with the woodgrain background from the Way Out West set. I used some thin foam squares to lift the frame just a bit off of the sky background. I stamped the rocket ship from Half Pint Heroes and colored it with coordinating markers. Fun!

I can't wait to see your creations this week! Have fun and remember to link up by the 10th for a chance to win your very own WMS!

Supplies: Stamps - Way Out West, Half Pint Heroes (WMS), DP/Embellishments - Rocket Age Collection (October Afternoon), Card Stock - Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla (SU!), Ink - Crumb Cake (SU!), Twine (PTI), Copic Markers
