Yee Haw

Hello friends!  Today begins a new sketch challenge at Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge and I sure hope you can play along with us this week!  If you're new to Waltzingmouse, I encourage you to head over to the shop to give a look 'round.  There are a lot of freebies to try out and I know you will love what you see!  This week we have this wonderful sketch from Teresa -
I love ephemera and have had this old cowboy playing card sitting on my desk for just the right project and it matched the colors of my June Studio Calico kit and my Back in the Saddle stamps just perfectly so I thought I'd give it a go!  I layered the playing card over a piece of patterned paper which I striped with two strips of patterned washi tape and added the "yee haw" sentiment on the side.  I finished the card with some rope ribbon and a stamped die cut.
Thanks for visiting today!

Supplies:  Stamps (WMS), Cardstock - Select White (PTI), DP/Washi Tape/Die Cut - So Cal kit (Studio Calico), vintage playing card, Rope (SU!), Ink - Chocolate Chip (SU!)

Happy Birthday

Hello friends!  Today I have a card I made for last week's Color Throwdown!  I don't quite have the exact colors used this week but I sure tried to get close.

I started off with a wonderful Toile Panel Background stamp using olive ink on a cream panel.  I adhered that to an olive card base and layered some receipt ephemera on top, stamping one piece with a sentiment from the Happy Birthday set.  I finished the card with some tulle flowers and some little wooden birds that I misted with some coordinating ink.

Supplies - Stamps (Rubbernecker), Cardstock - Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla (SU!), Ink - Old Olive, Dusty Durango, Cameo Coral (SU!), Tea Dye Duo (PTI), Stickles (Ranger), Flowers (Prima), Birds (Studio Calico),  Ephemera (7 Gypsies)

Scooters

Hello friends!  Today I have a card to share with you that I made for this week's CASual Friday challenge - to use pink!  I had this new scooter image from Rubbernecker Stamps that I couldn't wait to get inky so I thought it would be fun to do a few plain scooters and one jazzy one!

I stamped the scooter three times on a white card base and then stamped the sentiment.  I pieced one pink scooter from a piece of patterned paper and then applied some fabric tape as a "road."

Thanks for visiting today!

Supplies:  Stamps (Rubbernecker), Cardstock - Select White (PTI), DP - Little Bo Peep collection (Crate Paper), Ink - Basic Black (SU!), Fabric Tape (7 Gypsies)

You Make Me Smile

Hello friends!  Today is the start of a new sketch challenge at Waltzingmouse and we've got a wonderful sketch from Edna again this week!  This one is a bit of a toughie so I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!  The Mischief Makers have already impressed me with the diverse ways they tackled it!  :)
I was looking around my stash for some words I could use for the bottom when I came across this patterned paper.  Is it a cheat?  I don't think so!  :)  I layered some coordinating papers and stamped a coordinating label with one of the Compact Sentiments II.  I am so addicted to them, all three sets haven't left my desk since I got them a couple of weeks ago!  I finished the card with some ribbon trim, a flower I made with some new Spellbinders dies, and a few wooden stars.

Thanks for visiting today!

Supplies:  Stamps (WMS), DP - Odds and Ends collection (Cosmo Cricket), Ink - Chocolate Chip (SU!), Ribbon (Memriemare), Stars (Studio Calico), vintage button, Dies (Spellbinders), Cuttlebug, Twine (May Arts)

The Craft's Meow - Day Four Previews!

Hello friends!  Today is the final day of previews at The Craft's Meow before the big release and blog hop tomorrow!  We have two new sets to show you today starting with "Hello, Deer" from Amy Wanford!  How'd she do for her first set as a designer?  I'd say, pretty great!
I started off with some patterned papers from Kaisercraft, stamped that adorable deer and the little stump, and then fussy cut them.  I stamped one of the sentiments onto a coordinating tag and then layered some leaves behind the deer and finished the card with some cute gingham ribbon.

The next card features our gift with purchase set - yours free when you spend $50!  Check out "Summer Fun" by Kaitlyn Ord -
For this card, I used some goodies from my new Studio Calico kit!  I layered some patterned papers (how great are those new Sassafras designs?!), made a sun from some punched shapes, and then stamped one of the sentiments from the set.  I stamped the bbq in Melon Berry ink, cut it out, and then layered it on the card with foam squares.

Thanks for visiting today!

The Craft's Meow - Day Two Previews!

Hello friends and welcome to day two of the June release from The Craft's Meow!  Today we have two coordinating sets designed by Nina Brackett to preview - "Stitched Flowers" and "Stitched Sentiments."  I just adore the stitched look of the flowers and sentiments in these sets!
I stamped the large flower cluster from the set onto a piece of cream cardstock and then cut it out using my labels 4 dies.  I stamped the flowers again on some red patterned paper and then pieced them over the stems.  I layered some coordinating patterned papers and a patterned border that I threaded with some twine.  I finished the card with some twine and a threaded button and colored the leaves with Copic markers.  The "smiles" sentiment is from the sentiments set!
I made this coordinating tag with another sentiment from the sentiments set and the hydrangeas from the flower set.  I used my labels 4 dies again and pieced the flowers from patterned paper.  I finished the tag with a chipboard button and some butterfly stickers.

Thanks for visiting today and I'll see you back here tomorrow with a set that will coordinate with your Spellbinder dies!

The Craft's Meow - Day One Previews!

This is my second post of the day.  If you're looking for my Waltzingmouse Blog Party post, please scroll down.
Hello friends and welcome to day one of the fabulous new release at The Craft's Meow!  As usual, there are soooo many gorgeous stamps we've got to preview for you this week and two new guest designers - Larissa Heskett and Gayatri Murali!  I hope you have a chance to head over to their blogs and give them some love!  First up for stamps this month is a wonderful new set called "God's Blessings" designed by Karen Baker!
I stamped a piece of patterned paper from my May Studio Calico kit with the big flourishes and a sentiment from the set.  I then layered a couple of sun-shaped die cuts and stamped the cross on each.  I layered those die cuts with some foam in the middle for some dimension - came out very cool!  I finished the card with some butterfly stickers and a few tiny pearls.

Thanks for visiting today and I sure hope you've been enjoying the previews today from the DT - I always find their creations so inspiring!!  I'll see you back here tomorrow with two new sets designed by Nina Brackett!

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I look forward to partying along with all of you!

Best Husband

Hello friends!  I hope you are enjoying the start of your weekends!  Today I'm planning for a "what I want to do today" day which may run the gamut from grocery shopping to gardening with some crafty time thrown in.  Tomorrow we continue the house search in a little suburban town we don't know much about.  Looking forward to it!!

Rejoice!

Hello friends!  This is the second post I have for today where I'm showcasing projects I made for the May Arts design team call!  I'm sure you can see just how yummy this ribbon is from the card and the tag I'm showing here!

The card above was made with some patterned papers and chipboard elements all wrapped in a giant, silk bow!  I finished the card with some May Arts twine, some feathers, and a vintage button.

For the tag, I used a background paper with a peacock feather pattern and some real peacock feathers tied up in that fun gingham ribbon!  I layered some coordinating paper, fussy cut, and chipboard elements to finish the tag.

I hope you enjoyed seeing my projects this evening!  I'll be back on Thursday with a card featured in the June issue of Cards Magazine!

Supplies:  Ribbon/Twine (May Arts), Shipping Tag (Uline), DP/Chipboard (Graphic 45), Ink - Tea Dye Duo (PTI)

Best Sister

Hello friends!  Today I have a card to share with you that I made for the May Arts design team call!  I've had so much fun creating three projects and you'll be able to see all of them on the blog later tonight!  May Arts ribbon is so gorgeous, it is my go-to ribbon for pretty much all of my projects lately!

Okay, on with the show!  I started off with a tag and some papers/embellishments from American Crafts and stamped the sentiment onto one of the coordinating tags.  I line the word stamps up over the tag and then apply the acrylic block to make sure they are all lined up right.  One other tip, if you haven't already tried it, is to stamp over a piece of foam or an old mouse pad for a crisper impression (I learned this tidbit from Claire at Waltzingmouse and it has saved me!)  :)

Next, I chose background paper and one of the May Arts ribbons I wanted to showcase.

For the brad embellishment, I punched a small hole into the ribbon and the paper so it would be easier to attach.

Next I chose more May Arts ribbon and some twine to tie the tag with and continued to play with the layout of the card.  As you can see in the photo of the final project at the top of the post, I finished the card with a couple of coordinating embellishments along the velvet ribbon strip.
Thanks for visiting today!

Supplies:  Ribbon/Twine (May Arts), DP/Embellishments - Neapolitan collection (American Crafts), Stamps - Compact Family (Waltzingmouse), Ink - Basic Black (SU!), Cardstock - Select White (PTI)
