I Love You More - PDCC 164

Hello friends! Today is the day for a new color story at The Play Date Cafe! Woo hooo! Check out these wonderful colors -
I happened to have an old sheet of Sassafras paper out and when I was putting it away, I found that wonderful feather paper that I thought was the perfect shade of blue for this challenge.  I layered a strip onto a sheet of woodgrain paper and then stamped a label and added some embellishments from an old Studio Calico kit.  I've had fun digging though some older papers as I've been trying to organize the new studio and think you'll be seeing some of them here on the old blog very soon.  Seriously loving the Sassafras and so happy I bought a ton before they closed shop, so to speak.  They were very ahead of their time and so much of what is old is new again, lol!  So glad I'm a hoarder!  :)

Have a great day and don't forget to link up by next Tuesday to be eligible for a prize from our fabby sponsor, Simon Says Stamp!

Papermade Bakery Sneak - Perk Up

Hello friends!  I meant to post this yesterday but things got quite busy for me the past 36 hours, I didn't have a chance to.  Hopefully I can share the reason for the craziness with you soon!  This is a sneak peek of a card I posted on the Paper Made Bakery blog yesterday.  I hope you have a chance to check it out - I just love the bright colors and the little spoon!

You're Such a Deer

Hello friends!  Today The Craft's Meow DT is hopping to showcase retiring sets and to let you know about a big sale!  Many retiring sets are already marked down but all will be an additional 15% off through Friday - simply enter code Winter15 at checkout!  If you're here from Jean's blog, you're in the right spot.  If not, head over to the TCM blog to get started!
For my card, I used "Oh Deer" which is one of my favorites and I'll be sad to see it go!  I used elements from the November Studio Calico kit and stamped the little deer on one of the patterned papers and pieced it onto the card.  I finished the card with some little wooden feather embellishments.

Thanks so much for visiting today and now, please head off to Jessica's blog for more inspiration!

Happily Ever After - PDCC 163

Hello friends!  Time for a new challenge at The Play Date Cafe after a week off!  Are you excited to start back up again??  I know I am!  Check out this fun color story -

I decided to make another anniversary card since our 6th anniversary is this month and used my new Darling Dear collection for this one.  I started off with a pale kraft base and layered some dotty paper and another paper on top.  I added the sentiment and alpha stickers and finished with some chipboard hearts and some gems.  Once I added the gems, I realized they were a bit more mint than sky but I like the pop so I kept them around.  :)

Thanks so much for visiting today and don't forget to link up by Tuesday for a chance to win a fun prize from PDCC!

Supplies:  DP/Embellishments - Darling Dear collection (Studio Calico), Cardstock - Crumb Cake (SU!), Tiny Attacher (Tim Holtz)

PMB New Release Hop!

Hello friends!  Today marks the first day of the brand new kit, "Warms Your Heart" from Paper Made Bakery and we are celebrating with a blog hop!

There's something new with the kits this month and that is you will receive full 8.5 x 11" sheets of cardstock so you can make any size project or cut up the sheets in any way you choose!  Fun!  I started out with one of the white sheets and used it for the card base that I covered with one of the sheets from the pack.  I just love this colorful zigzag pattern!  I cut and layered two of the sticker strips from the kit onto the card and finished with the xoxo chipboard that I sprayed with some of my color mist.

Check out all of the goodies you'll be getting in this wonderful kit -
Here is the list of the DT participating in the hop - I hope you get a chance to visit all the blogs for some wonderful inspiration!

Happy New Year!!

I sure hope the start to your 2013 is a wonderful one!  It has been so nice to be on vacation the past 10 days and I'm not really looking forward to going back to work on Wednesday!  :)  We had a chance to go visit my folks and see my little brother kick some booty in his HS basketball tourney.  Went to the snow and ate way too much!

2013 will be a busy year as we continue to try to make the house our home.  It is so cozy and wonderful and now that we seem to have the roof leaks under control (knock wood!!), we can focus our time, energy, and money on other projects.  Too bad none of them are really fun - like new fences in the backyard, tearing out the leaky skylight covering our atrium, and probably getting some new appliances since ours continually like to irritate me, lol!  What are your plans for the new year?  Oh, and get in better shape is toward the top of my list for sure!  The relocation and the stress of the "house stuff" and my longer commute have brought to mind that if I were in better shape, maybe I wouldn't feel so overwhelmed sometimes.  We'll see...  :)

This is a sneak of a project I have over at the Paper Made Bakery blog today.  The final project for the December, "Sodas in SoHo" kit as we'll be hopping with new goodies from the January kit tomorrow.  I sure hope you can come back for that!

Forever

Hello friends!  Today I am sad to say that this is the last sketch challenge at Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge!  But, no fear, there will still be more inspiration in the form of challenges from Waltzingmouse in the future and you will still see me and the Mischief Makers bringing you more WMS inspiration in one way or another.  Once a friend of Waltzingmouse, always a friend!

I sure hope you can send us off with a bang this week with this wonderful sketch from Edna -
I made this card for my hubby as we will be celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary on January 20th!  I started off with one of the hearts from the wonderful My Heart set and added our initials from the Woodenheart Alphabet set.  I finished the card with some little chipboard hearts and a banner stamped with one of the sentiments from My Heart.

Thanks so much for playing along with us for so long!  I can't believe I've been a MM for nearly two years and it was my greatest honor to be asked to join such a wonderful team!  I'm so excited to see what Claire has up her sleeves for this year and know you will be, too!

Supplies:  Stamps (WMS), DP/Embellishments - Darling Dear collection (Studio Calico), Cardstock - Chocolate Chip (SU!), Select White (PTI), Ink - Chocolate Chip (SU!), Corner Chomper
