Waltzingmouse Stamps - August Pajama Party!

Hello friends and welcome to another pajama party with Waltzingmouse Stamps!  If you're new to this concept, head over to Claire's blog to check it out!  There will be lots of festivities and fun challenges with chances to win fun prizes!
My project is based on the bedtime story sketch above - what a great sketch!  I decided to make a card for my dad's birthday coming up in September and thought the sentiment and images from "Ocean Bound" would be perfect!  I'm still in major clean up the craft room mode and recently found these fun papers and embellishments I honestly didn't remember I had!  I layered a couple together, stamped the rope frame and layered that with the circular ship image (fits perfectly in a 1.75" punch!) and added some buttons for good measure.

Thank you all for still hanging around my poor, neglected blog!  We are still on baby watch - only a week and a half to go before we're expecting the little though my doctor said we may be a bit early.  We shall see!  Glen and I finished the nursery last weekend (save for rearranging the furniture a bit) and I've been off work the past week so we're feeling as ready as we can get!

Thanks so much for visiting today and I hope you have a wonderful day!

Supplies:  Stamps (WMS), DP/Vellum Embellishment - Atlantic collection (Studio Calico), Cardstock - Select White (PTI), Ink - Basic Black, Night of Navy (SU!), vintage buttons (my stash)

Waltzingmouse Stamps - August Release Blog Hop!

Hello friends and welcome to the new release blog hop with Waltzingmouse Stamps!  I am so excited about this release and hope you are, too!  There are 9 new sets this month - something for everyone!  :) If you are here from Jeanne's blog, you're in the right spot.  If not, head over to the WMS blog to get started!
For  my project, I went back to two of the nautical sets, Safe Harbour Sentiments and Ocean Bound and Pinstripe Backgrounder.  I started with a navy base and then stamped a panel of white card stock with the pinstripe stamp.  I wanted a more subtle look so I layered a panel of vellum over the stripes.  I added some red, striped ribbon and a small panel stamped with one of the sentiments from Safe Harbour.  I stamped two images from Ocean Bound, cut them out, and added them to the card.  I finished with some rope twine and a couple of red gems.

Now for the fun part - a random drawing where the winner will be able to chose a stamp set of their choice!  A winner will be selected from comments left on all blogs (the more you comment, the better your chances to win!) by August 12 at 3:59 AM Pacific.  The winner will be announced on Claire’s blog on August 14th.

Thank you so much for visiting today and next up is Jean!

Waltzingmouse Stamps August Release - Day 3 Previews!

Hello friends and welcome to the last day of Waltzingmouse Stamps previews before the big August release tomorrow!  How did you like the florals yesterday?  I know I was sure impressed by what I saw from the DT!  Today, we're switching gears a bit and showcasing backgrounds and some wonderful sentiment stamps!

For my first project, I gussied up a large shipping tag!  I started with some patterned paper and then added a panel stamped with the gorgeous "Pinstripe Backgrounder"!  I adore this stamp and know I will use it a lot!!  I stamped a sentiment over the top of the stripes using "Another Big Day."  Recognize this font?  I'm so excited to have it for more sentiments!  :)  I finished it off with a big bow and some glitzy flowers.
I used a similar design concept for the little treat bag but kept it a bit more simple.  This time I layered a panel stamped with the new "Chevron Backgrounder" and another one of the sentiments from the "Big Day" set and added a couple of resin roses and some aqua trim.

Thank you so much for visiting today and we'll see you back here tomorrow for the release blog hop!  Here are links to the other DT members previewing today -

Waltzingmouse Stamps August Release - Day 2 Previews!

Hello friends and welcome to preview day #2 for Waltzingmouse Stamps!  Did you like the nautical themed sets from yesterday?  I just adore them!!  Now, we're going to move on with some really great floral sets, Two-Step Flower, Funky Flowers, and Simple Sprig!
For my first project, I used Two-Step Flower to create this airy birthday card (shhhhh, don't tell anyone there may be a quick peek of one of tomorrow's sets in there, too...)  I started off with a white panel which I stamped with the large leaves image from the set and then stamped the flowers onto another sheet of white cardstock, cut them out, and layered them on top.  I just love all of the floral elements in this set - you can just build and build!
This second card uses the sprig from Simple Sprig (there are some gorgeous rose images in that set as well and I'm sure you will see those on the other DT blogs) and the layered flowers from Funky Flowers.  I stamped and cut out the sprig and the flowers and then layered the flowers using foam tape for some dimension.  I tucked the flowers behind a little paper frame and finished the card with some fun trim and some buttons.

Waltzingmouse Stamps August Release - Day 1 Previews!

Hello friends and welcome to the first day of previews for the August release at Waltzingmouse Stamps!  I adore this release and just know you will, too!  In fact, the ideas for these stamp sets just keep coming and I'm having a hard time keeping up with them!  :)

What you'll be seeing previewed today are three nautical-themed sets, Safe Harbor, Ocean Bound, and Tying the Knot and I can't wait to show them to you!

For my first project, I used "Safe Harbor."  This set is jam packed with these wonderful stacked sentiments and a few small nautical images.  I immediately thought of scrimshaw and wanted to go with  a neutral palette.  I started off with a kraft base with a couple of coordinating patterned papers on top.  I stamped the top piece with one of the sentiments and two small boat images.
For my second project, I used "Ocean Bound" and chose my theme when I just fell in love with the "Oh the places you'll go" sentiment!  As I've mentioned here recently, it is baby central in our neck of the woods and I just loved this sentiment for all of the new lives getting ready to join ours and all of the fun we're going to have raising these little ones!  :)  I started off with a couple of baby-themed papers and a journaling spot and stamped a couple of images from the set onto the blue paper and embossed them with clear powder.  I stamped the journaling spot with the sentiment and large anchor and finished the card with a few coordinating vintage buttons.  I've only shown you a tiny fraction of what you'll get in this huge set!
For my final project, I used "Tying the Knot" to make this cute card.  I stamped the big knotty heart and sentiment onto some patterned paper and finished the card with some chipboard flowers and some stick pins.

I hope you're loving what you're seeing today - I know the DT is excited to share these projects with you!  Here are links to the other DT previewing today -

You're Beautiful, PDCC!

Hello friends!  As you probably know already, Julie has decided to serve up her last cuppa over at The Play Date Cafe.  I know it was a quick but incredibly difficult decision she made and support her 100%.  The timing was something of a blessing for me as I was going to step down at the end of last month because of the little's impending arrival anyway.  It has been tough, this entire pregnancy, to craft.  I've soldiered on with my DT commitments but work, my long commute, and fatigue nearly did me in so many times!  It will be nice to have some spare time (I'm going on leave 3 weeks before my due date but understand she can come whenever she wants to!) and hopefully I will get some crafty mojo back in short order.  A huge thank you to Julie for her confidence in me as a designer and to my crafty cohorts in the Cafe.  I've been inspired by all of you for so long and cherish the friendships we've made!

So, this was going to be my project for "the next" color story but I will share it with you now.  :)  I started with a gray card base and layered some patterned papers and a doily embellishment on top.  I stamped a coordinating label sticker with a fun sentiment and added a little pinwheel with a pipe cleaner "handle."

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Supplies:  Stamp - You're a Doll Additions (WMS), DP/Embellishments - The Pier collection (Crate Paper), Pipe Cleaner (my stash), Cardstock/Ink - Going Gray (SU!), foam squares
