Happy Halloween!

This is my second post for today. If you are looking for my Kraft Journal challenge post, please scroll down just a tad! :)

I don't celebrate Halloween but I sure have fun making cards for people who do! I made this card for a co-worker to give to her friend and just love that green paper with the skull on it in the background. And, how cool is that matching rhinestone on the little spider?

Have a great day!

Supplies: Stamps - Halloween Party (WMS), DP - Phantom Collection (Pink Paislee), Rhinestone (Swarovsky), Ribbon (Memriemare), Cuttlebug, Circle Dies (Spellbinders), Ink - Basic Black (SU!), Cardstock - Whisper White, Basic Black (SU!)

Heartfelt Sympathy

Hi friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Today is challenge day over at The Kraft Journal and we're challenging you to make a card using banners or border punches!

I stamped a buff ivory panel with some text and then punched the bottom edge with a border punch and hten attached it to a light kraft base. I tore a page from a small journal, stamped it with the flower image and sentiment and then added photo corners for a vintage feel. I finished the card with some film strip ribbon and some similar hemp cord.

While I made this card for a friend who recently lost her grandfather, I was also inspired by a 24 year old motorcyclist who succumbed to injuries suffered during a race last weekend. My husband and I are big Moto GP fans and have traveled around the country and Europe watching some really amazing riders. One of our recent favorites and a brilliant up-and-comer was Marco Simoncelli. He was a joy to watch and always seemed to be having the time of his life both on and off track. We were lucky enough to see him and talk to him when we were in Indianapolis for the race in August and that's where my hubby took this photo. Ciao Sic, I will miss you terribly.
Supplies: Stamps - Text It (WMS), Cherish (Hero Arts), Cardstock (TKO), Filmstrip Ribbon (Tim Holtz), white gel pen, Ink - Chocolate Chip (SU!), Tea Dye Duo (PTI), Hemp Twine (TKO), Journal Page (TKO), Border Punch (SU!), Photo Corners (Michael's)

Pure Christmas Spirit

Hi friends, and welcome to another fun week at Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge! This week we have this great sketch courtesy of DT member Kelly - I used my wonderful new Christmas sets - Nordic Winter and Seasonal Remedies along with some old favorites to make this card. I stamped the background with that wonderful, sweater'y background and added the remedies tag tied to some thick ribbon. I finished the tie with some silver twine and jingle bells. To finish the card I stamped one candy cane from Sewing Box Christmas onto some white felt and another on some red felt and then cut them out and pieced them together so they were striped! I had a lot of fun making those little candy canes and have been looking for a place to use them!

I hope you can play along with us this week! Remember to link up by next Friday morning for a chance at being chosen Top Mouse and also one random participant will win their very own stamp set! Fun!!

Christmas Greetings

Hello friends! Today I have a tutorial for you to make a quick hinged card using some fun stamps and paper tape!
I started with a piece of buff ivory cardstock trimmed to 4.25 x 5.5 and covered it with strips of paper tape. Trim the excess tape with scissors.
I cut a circle from the buff ivory cardstock and a coordinating scalloped circle from some patterned paper. I then stamped some foliage images; once in green that will be the background image, and others in dark brown which I cut out and popped up using foam squares. I attached the two circles together and attached them to the taped base using a Christmas decorative brad. I cut a smaller circle from the buff ivory and stamped it with the Christmas greeting which is revealed when the larger circle is rotated. This is a fun and easy way to change up your "normal" folded cards that could even be sent as postcards simply by addressing the back!

Supplies: Stamps - Festive Foliage, Compliments of the Season (WMS), Paper Tape (7 Gypsies), Cardstock - Buff Ivory (TKO), Ink - Chocolate Chip, Old Olive (SU!), Cuttlebug, Dies (Spellbinders), Brad (TKO), DP (Anna Griffin), Foam Squares

Joyeux Noel

Happy Saturday, friends!! I hope you've all had a great week and are ready for another fun challenge at Waltzingmouse!! This week we have this fabby sketch from DT member, Kelly -

Part of the fun of sketch challenges, for me, is seeing all of the different variations you all take as you create from the sketch inspiration! As you can see from my card, I didn't use circles but still placed the elements in the same places (well, I guess I flipped it over, too, lol!) All that is to say, do what you want and have fun!!

I stamped two labels from the Labels 14 set, and added the sentiment from Very Vintage Christmas (the first set I ever purchased from WMS and still one of my favorites!!). I stamped the holly leaves and embossed them in silver (inspired by one of the DT recently but I can't remember who - I'm so sorry!), then added some red berries covered in chunky glitter. I finished the card with some pretty red seam binding.

Have fun and I can't wait to see what you create with this sketch! Link up by Friday and you'll have a chance to be named Top Mouse and/or win a set of your choice!! Wowza!!

Supplies: Stamps - Very Vintage Christmas, Vintage Labels 14, Festive Foliage, DP - Jolly By Golly (Cosmo Cricket), Cardstock - Select White (PTI), Ink - Basic Black, Riding Hood Red (SU!), Versamark, Glitter/Embossing Powder (Martha Stewart Crafts), Seam Binding (SU!)

I made this card featuring a light kraft card base, a distressed vampire blood label stamped onto buff ivory cardstock over some of my new Prima patterned papers. I finished the card with some seam binding and a spooky cameo.

Give Thanks

Hello friends! Today is waltz day where all of us friends and fans of Waltzingmouse Stamps get together to share the love! If you are new to all of this, head over to the forum to get started and hopefully I'll see you on a waltz sometime soon! :) The theme this month is "gratitude/Thanksgiving" and boy do I have a lot to be thankful for these days!

I made this card using papers from my new Farmhouse collection from Crate Paper and my (new to me) Teeny Trees stamp set (why oh why did it take me so long to buy this one?!) :) I first stamped the large label from Very Vintage Labels 10 and cut it out. I stamped the trees and bent the sentiment around the curve of the label and stamped it. I stamped the leaves with my new Perfect Pearls using gold, copper, and bronze pearls - I think it really looks like fall! I finished the card with some beautiful brown ribbon trim, button brads, and some faux pearls.

Thanks for visiting today and I can't wait to hit the dance floor and see what you all made!

Supplies: Stamps - Teeny Trees, Vintage Labels 10 (WMS), DP - Farmhouse Collection (Crate Paper), Cardstock - Lunch Bag Kraft (TKO), Perfect Pearls, Dies - Labels 10 (Spellbinders), Pearls (Martha Stewart Crafts), Ink - Chocolate Chip, Dusty Durango (SU!), Ribbon (La Stephanoise), Button Brads (SU!)

Hi Rubbernecker friends! Welcome to our Fall/Halloween hop - thanks so much for joining us today! Rubbernecker Stamps has so many new images for the holidays, we just had to share some with you!

I made this card using this adorable Little Lovin's Pilgrim Boy and my new Farmhouse papers from Crate Paper. I stamped the sentiment on one of the panels of paper and then adhered some fabric tape to the center of the card. I stamped the image on cream cardstock and colored a bit with my Copics to stick with the CR84FN palette this week. I added some gold Stickles for some added pizazz.

There is a hop route for you to follow at the bottom of this post. And, so you won’t get lost, each one of us will have this list to help you on your journey. Make sure to comment at every stop so you can be eligible for an amazing prize - your choice of one of several new stamp sets!!

Spooky Treats

Hello, friends! It is Saturday and time for another fun challenge over at Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge! Every week we get together to share ideas and our love of WMS - this week we had this fun sketch to work with - I have been trying to stretch myself in my papercrafting to make things other than cards lately and I was pretty stumped for a while until I remembered a treat box that my Stampin' Up demonstrator, Maya, showed me several years ago.

The box is pretty basic - a 4.5 x 11 sheet of cardstock scored in the center and then again diagonally on both "halves." When you fold it up, you end up with a flat triangle. I added a strip of black cardstock to the bottom and a stamped strip of cardstock above the hat brim. Two label 4 dies and a sheet of the metallic cardstock from Spellbinders made the buckle.

I hope you like my little Halloween treat box and that I'll see you participate this week! I can't wait to see your take on this sketch!!

Happy Halloween

Hello friends! Today I'm sharing a card that I made with a brand new image from Rubbernecker Stamps! I adore these birds in the tree and think there are so many different ways it can be used depending on the colors, sentiment, and embellishments you use!

I chose to ink the birds up in black and make a Halloween scene complete with a big, black satin ribbon and some pretty crystal stick pins. I finished the card with the Halloween sentiment which I brushed with copper Perfect Pearls for a shimmery touch.

Thanks for visiting!

Supplies: Stamps - Birds in Trees, Happy Halloween (RN), Cardstock - Basic Black, Whisper White (SU!), Ink - Basic Black (SU!), Perfect Pearls, Ribbon (my stash), Stick Pins (Maya Road)

Joyeux Noel

Hi friends and welcome to another great challenge week over at The Kraft Journal! Before I talk about my little pillow box creation, I wanted to let you all know about a give away - a $20 voucher for The Kraft Outlet!! Head over to the blog to find out more!

This week the challenge is to use die cuts in your creations. I ended up layering a couple of stamped label die cuts over a kraft pillow box to make this festive holiday gift container. These great pillow boxes are the perfect size for little treats or a gift card!

I stamped the pillow box with a snowflake pattern in silver to give it an extra festive touch and used chipboard flag die cuts and coordinating die cut flag stickers to make the little "to/from" flags which were glued on to toothpicks and tucked behind the labels. The little box was finished with a big red bow.

I hope to see you play along this week! Just by linking up your creation featuring kraft cardstock or products purchased at The Kraft Outlet, you will be eligible to be part of our Top 3 and also have a chance to win a voucher! Fun!!
Supplies: Pillow Box (TKO), Stamps - Very Vintage Christmas, Holiday Labels 14 (WMS), Ink - Silver (Encore), Black/Riding Hood Red (SU!), Cardstock - Vintage Cream (PTI), Chipboard Flags/Stickers (Jenni Bowlin), toothpicks/ribbon (my stash)

Thanksgiving Wishes

Happy Sunday! I hope you all are having wonderful weekends! I've had a fun weekend with girlfriends yesterday - mani/pedi day and crafting afterward where I made this card for this week's Tuesday Trigger over at the Moxie Fab blog. Here's the inspiration photo -

I wanted to use the colors as well as the apple theme of this wonderful parfait and found my new Farmhouse papers to be the perfect fall background! I picked out the red paper with the apples (or are they cherries? I'm not so sure anymore, lol!) and toned the red down using some distress ink - tip courtesy of my friend Belinda!

I stamped the label and sentiment on a coordinating patterned paper and finished the card with some pearls and crochet trim representing the whipped cream. Yummy! I'd love to dip into that lovely dessert right now... :)

Thanks for visiting!

Supplies: Stamps - Labels 10, Say it Loud Holiday (WMS), DP - Farmhouse Collection (Crate Paper), Cardstock - Chocolate Chip (SU!), Ink - Chocolate Chip, Old Olive (SU!), Crochet Trim (May Arts), Pearls (Martha Stewart Crafts)

Birthday Wishes

Helloooo! I hope you all had a wonderful week and that your weekend is off to a great start! Today I have this birthday card to share with you that I made for this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge using this fabby sketch -

I started off with a few different patterned papers from the Country Estate collection and stamped the flowers and leaves on different papers. I love all of the patterns and how they tie so well with the background paper I chose. That is the fun of using sheets from a collection. Remember those old rules about patterns not going with patterns? Well, throw it out the window and have fun with your papers!! :)

I stamped the flowers from Roses in Bloom, cut both out (I cut around the interior edge to give the centers some dimension) then stamped and cut the leaves. I used a die to cut the little notebook page from some cream cardstock then stamped it with some text from Text-It and then added the sentiment from Eat Cake. I'm really happy with how soft and pretty this card came out!

If you've never played along, I encourag you to do so this week! If you don't have any WMS, there are a ton of freebies in the store that you can use! And, if you do play, you'll have a chance to be Top Mouse and win your very own set! What's better than free WMS? :)

Supplies: Stamps - Roses in Bloom, Text-It, Eat Cake (WMS), DP - Country Estate Collection (Webster's Pages), Cardstock - Select White, Vintage Cream (PTI), Notebook Die (PTI), Ink - Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip (SU!), foam squares

Theatre

Happy Wednesday, friends! I hope you are having a great week so far! Today I have a fun card that I made using the Opera Set from Rubbernecker Stamps! I just love the retro feel of all of the images in this set and find I go to them again and again!

I stamped a panel of white cardstock with the cherub flourish and added it to a black card base. I then stamped the large poster stamp onto some white cardstock and then distressed the edges a bit to set it apart from the background. I was inspired by the French feel of the card to make a "garter" along the edge by layering a couple pieces of ribbon and then adding some rhinestones. Fun!

Thank you, as always, for visiting my little corner of the crafty world! I sincerely appreciate all of you! :)

Supplies: Stamps - Opera Set (RN), Cardstock - Basic Black, Whisper White (SU!), Ink - Riding Hood Red, Basic Black (SU!), Corner Chomper, Lace/Trim (La Stephanoise), Rhinestones (Martha Stewart Crafts)

Carte Postal

Happy Monday! It is challenge day at The Kraft Journal where we're going for lavish layers! This is a fun one - I hope you can play along!

I had a lovely weekend shower on Saturday for my friend Felicia! I used layers of paper tape over a wonderful postcard shipping tag to create this jumbo tag for her shower gift! Guess the wedding date? Yep, November 12th! :) Additional layers include film strip ribbon, a love ticket, and a November calendar bingo card. The card was finished off with reinforcer stickers, some black seam binding ribbon, gorgeous stick pins, and a vintage button for some extra sparkle.

Though there are a lot of layers on this tag, it isn't overwhelming and was a big hit at the party. I can't wait to see what you create for this fun challenge! Enter and you will have a chance at a Kraft Outlet gift certificate!

Supplies: Postcard (The Kraft Journal), Paper Tape (7 Gypsies), Film Strip Ribbon/Adage Tickets/Reinforcer Stickers (Tim Holtz), Stick Pins/Bingo Card (Jenni Bowlin), vintage button/seam binding (my stash), Number Dies/Ink (Papertrey Ink), Cuttlebug, Metal Sheet (Spellbinders)

Hocus Pocus

Happy Saturday, everyone! What a week! Two busy ones in a row for me and I haven't had much crafty time at all lately! But, what better way to get your crafty mojo going that a fabulous new sketch at Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge! Today we have a fabby sketch from Claire that is perfect for this time of year - I decided to make a Halloween tag and was fortunate enough to play with the new Hocus Pocus set when I met up with a couple of ladies from the WMS forum for an afternoon of crafting fun! I used some fun patterned paper to stamp with the sentiment, fence, and crows from the set. Stamped the witch silhouette, cut it out, and mounted it to the circle. I added a few orange rhinestones to decorate the top of the fence. I applied the circle to a label 5 cut out which I covered with some spider web paper and tied a ribbon and some gold twine to the top.

I'd love to know if you're planning to join us this week - leave me a note and I'll go look for your project! :) Remember, you have a chance to win a set of your very own WMS just for playing! Awesome!

Supplies: Stamps - Hocus Pocus (WMS), DP - Eerie Collection (Basic Gray), Cardstock - Basic Black, Whisper White (SU!), Dies - Labels 5, Small Circles (Spellbinders), Cuttlebug, Ribbon (MemrieMare), Twine/Rhinestones (Crafta)
