Give Thanks

Hello friends!  Today is Saturday and it is time for another super sketch challenge with Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge!  Check out this amazing sketch based on a card by Becca -
I will be the first to admit that this sketch gave me fits this week!  I just couldn't come up with anything until late yesterday afternoon.  I decided to use my Teeny Trees set and some new papers from Simple Stories.  Can you see the three circles?  :)  I chose a green plaid paper for the little hills and then used a couple of different trees for my little fall landscape.  I used one of the treetops for a little sun and then added the sentiment.  I thought the card was a little plain so I added the cloud sticker to give the sun some dimension.

Important news - there has been a change to the sketch "rules" and now you can use any stamps you'd like to.  WMS are not required so feel free to join up even if you don't have any!  Looking forward to seeing what you all create with this sketch!!

Supplies:  Stamps (WMS), DP/Sticker - Take a Hike collection (Simple Stories), Ink - YoYo Yellow, Dusty Durango, Chocolate Chip (SU!), Twine (Trendy Twine)

Say Cheese - PDCC 153

Hello friends!  Boy, it feels great to be back playing with The Play Date Cafe this week!  Thank you for your patience during my absence the past two weeks and I'm happy to report that I'm almost settled in the craft room and am having a ball!  I should have taken before and after photos but since it is still almost in "before" state, I'll try to get some up this week.  I finally have some boxes unpacked and have now located most of my paper collections, my cardstock, and my punches.  I've unearthed the Cuttlebug and all of my dies and have set up my stamping desk and the table where I die cut and take my photos.  It is a temporary folding table but it gets the job done and at least we can save a bit of money for now.  We did go to Ikea last weekend and I got a storage shelf and a computer desk so hopefully we'll get those up in the next few weeks.  The pieces that are still missing from the studio are my button jars, various embellishments, and my embossing equipment - they are all still in boxes until I have somewhere to store them.

Anyway, enough of that and on to the wonderful color story this week!  Say hello to bubblegum, tangerine, and pear -
I just adore these colors together and had so much fun picking out papers to use for this challenge and thought my new Midway collection had some perfect elements!  I started with a base of tangerine striped paper, cut out the little Polaroid frames from another paper in the collection, and attached them with some washi tape.  I finished the card with a banner and sentiment from The Craft's Meow "Good Times" set, some sequins, and a little piece of flair.

Thanks so much for visiting today and I hope you are as inspired by these colors as I was!  Link up by Tuesday for a chance to win a prize from our fabulous sponsor, Simon Says Stamp!

Paper Made Bakery Sneak - Sweet Memories

Hello friends!  Today I have a sneak peek of a cute tag project I've shared on the Paper Made Bakery blog!  I hope you can take a minute and head over there to see the whole project!  I'm still trying to find a good spot to take photos of my projects - learning the lighting and color cast of my new studio space has been an interesting journey, indeed!  I keep experimenting and haven't found anything I really love yet.  More experimentation to come, no doubt!  :)

Well, I hope you've had fun with the DT projects you've seen this week, I know I have!  Here's all of the wonderful goodies you'll get in this month's kit -
Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy World Card Making Day!

Hello friends and happy World Card Making Day!  Today I have a fun card to share with you that I made for this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge!  It is so great to resume my duties (how can I even call them that since it is more play than work, for sure!) as a Mischief Maker this week now that we've settled in from the move!
For this card, I used the only collection kit I can find so far - my September Studio Calico kit - and used two of the wonderful patterned papers for the background and another coordinating paper for the doily which I stamped and then embossed white.  I love the way that white pops off of that wonderful mint!  I finished the card using a button from the kit and some twine and fun sequins!
For this challenge, you will have until Friday morning to link up for a chance to win your very own Waltzingmouse stamp set of choice!  That's right - one random participant will be chosen from all who enter!  Thanks so much for visiting and all of your wonderful comments the past couple of weeks.  It is nice to get back in to the swing of crafting and blogging again and I hope to come visit you all very soon!

Supplies:  Stamps (WMS), DP/Embellishments (Studio Calico), Twine (PTI), Ink - Chocolate Chip, Craft White (SU!), Cardstock - Medium Kraft (The Kraft Outlet), White Embossing Powder (SU!), foam squares

Paper Made Bakery - October Release Blog Hop!

Hello friends, I'm back!  I finally had a chance to craft some yesterday for the first time in two whole weeks!  Having wonderful supplies like the Paper Made Bakery's October kit, Sweet Life, sure made it easier to get back into the swing of things!  :)  I promise I will post updates about the move over the next few days and hopefully with some pics!

Anyway, here is the gorgeous October kit and if you look closely you will see a brand new stamp line called Fresh Squeezed Stamps!  These are being brought to you by the talented Shannon Fralish and Ryann Salamon and are designed to coordinate perfectly with the monthly kits!   How cool is that!?

For my card, I used one of the lovely papers from the Avalon set over a yellow card base.  I stamped the flower from the set in pink onto a white die cut and then pieced the little bird with another one of the papers.  I stamped the sentiment and then drew the little word bubble around it freehand.  I finished the card with some ribbon and buttons from the kit.  The only thing that is not from the kit is the twine I tied the buttons with.

Thank you so much for visiting today!  Here is the rest of our blog hop lineup for your enjoyment -

And, here's the link for the giveaways!  There will be two fun prize packs this month that will include a new Fresh Squeezed Stamps set!  Woo hop!

All supplies from PMB except twine (PTI)

The Craft's Meow - October Sketch Challenge!

Hello friends!  Today marks the beginning of a brand new sketch challenge at The Craft's Meow and I will be your hostess over on the TCM blog!  Head over there for prize details and to enter!  First of all, check out this gorgeous sketch from Nina B Designs -

I started off with some patterned paper and then added the hexagon background and the little bees from Thanks Bee to Thee.  The sentiment is from Stitched Sentiments and the flowers are from Stitched Flowers.  I stamped the flowers onto a coordinating piece of cardstock and then pieced them with some fun striped paper.  I finished the card with some wide ribbon and some yellow Stickles for the bee bodies.

Thanks for visiting today and I sure hope you can play along with us this month!
