Join in the fun every day at taheerah-atchia.com to see what special surprises wait behind the door!  Today's sponsor is Waltzingmouse Stamps!  I designed for Claire and the team for years and it was a wonderful time!  I'm thrilled to be presenting along with her today!

For this card, I stamped a WMS striped background stamp onto a sheet of vellum using silver ink and layered in on a kraft card base for a subtle look.  I stamped and fussy cut two rendered and then layered them on top of the vellum and used some metallic brads for their noses.  I finished the card with some twine and a stamped sentiment greeting.

In order to win the prize supplied by Waltzingmouse Stamps, simply leave a comment on this post to enter - then head back to taheerah-atchia.com and leave a comment there too to double your chances! Don’t forget to grab the other surprise destinations from Taheerah’s blog and head over to them to leave comments there as well to improve your odds even more! Stash Your Stash - The Twinery Blog Hop

Hello friends!  Today is a fun blog hop with some of The Twinery designers as we show you how we store our twine!
I store my twine in this Kallax shelving unit from Ikea and I just adore it.  The drawers also came from Ikea and they are huge - perfect for storing all types of things.  You can see by the labels that this one has my printing supplies in one drawer (for my Selphy and my regular printer), my glitter and Stickles in another, some new paper collections in the third and my Twinery twine in the last one.
It really is so perfect to store, deep enough to dig around in and close to the ground because it is heavy!
I have larger sizes of Kallax in the closet of my craft room and they hold so much stuff!  I really can't say enough good things about these storage cubes and the little drawers I got for them.

Like I always say, it's not really a hop unless there's a prize and we've got several to give away today!  Each designer participating in the hop today will be giving away a Striped Twine Sampler ($18 value).  To enter, hoppers need to comment on each post along the hop and, since each designer is giving away a Striped Twine Sampler, each post commented on is another chance to win!  Comments will close at midnight (EST) on Tuesday, November 3rd and winners will be posted on The Twinery blog on Thursday, November 5th.

Also, just for the hop today, there is a special 25% off discount on any order!  Fabulous!  Simply use the code STASH25 through 11/6.

In closing, I thought I'd share the reason you don't see me out in craft land regularly any more (though I really am trying to remedy that!) - baby Amelia!  I don't think I've shared a photo in a long time and she sure isn't a baby any more!  She turned 2 in September and started preschool.  Here she is trying her Halloween costume on... I know I'm biased but I think she's darn cute!

Here are all of the designers participating today.  I think you'll enjoy all of the storage ideas they'll be sharing!

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Summer Fun with The Twinery!

Hello friends and welcome to the Caribbean Twine blog hop with The Twinery!  If you've arrived here from Anita's blog, you're in the right spot.  If not, head over to The Twinery blog to get started!Today we're spotlighting the cool hue of Caribbean waters with both solid and striped twine!  Aren't these colors gorgeous?!  I remember my beach vacations when I think of waters in these colors!

I decided to make a couple of gift tags for my projects.  I just love tags, particularly "any occasion" tags as they jazz up so many types of gifts.  For my first tag, I started off with a large format tag, approximately 6x3", layered some pool patterned paper, some sequin "waves" and some fun embellishments.  I finished the tag off with a tassel of solid Caribbean twine.
My second project is a smaller-scale tag, approximately 4.5x2" and features some chipboard kites floating along on twine tails.  The tag is finished with a tassel of striped Caribbean twine.

Thank you so much for visiting today!  Off you go to Tobi's blog for more Caribbean twine goodness!

Hello Again!

Hello, friends!  I know it has been a long time since my last post and I am sorry for that!  Other than saying life really changed after I had Amelia, I don't have a lot of reasons.  Before I get chatting, I wanted to let you know that The Twinery DT is getting underway again for 2015 after a bit of a hiatus, and I'm up on the blog today.  Check it out!

As for me, Amelia turned 20 months yesterday and I can hardly believe it!  She's a happy, vibrant, toddler who loves to read, to "wah hah" (wash hands), and her little granola bars - "mo cookie peas mommy."  It is definitely difficult to work full time, spend enough time with A, and have time for things I like/want to do during the week and that is why you haven't seen much of me crafting lately.  It really has dropped to the "when I have time" and I really just haven't found much.  In addition to all of that, I was promoted at work last fall and am managing a team which has required some long days.  No excuses, just my new reality.

Anyway, I hope you have a great day and I really do hope I'll see you out here again in the coming days!  Oh, before I go...  here's a photo of Amelia in her Easter finery...

Valentines 5 for 5 - Day 5!

Hello friends and welcome to the Valentines 5 for 5 blog event!  What a wonderful week of Valentine goodness!  Thank you all for visiting and a big thanks to Donna and Rachel for pulling this together!    The final theme is collage and I have another card to share.
I have a hard time identifying with any particular style for my crafting but collage is definitely one of my favorites.  It has been a long time since I've worked with my collage supplies and can't wait to start getting my ephemera together!  For this card, I layered a panel of brown cardstock on a pink card base and then layered a number of elements on top - some film strip "ribbon", a postage stamp, some stickers and a card stock arrow and a vellum heart with a fun sticker on top.  This one will be good to give the hubby for Valentine's Day!

Thanks so much for visiting throughout this week!  I sure had a lot of fun with these projects!

Valentines 5 for 5 - Day 4!

Hello friends and welcome to the Valentines 5 for 5 blog event!  Thanks to Donna and Rachel, we're back together for five days of Valentine inspiration!  Today's theme is arrows and I made a little tag to share.  As I've mentioned this week, I'm in the middle of a craft room remodel and it is just chaos.  It's a great challenge to see what is handy and what I can use to pull off some new projects!
To be honest, I was stumped by the arrows and very limited to supplies I could find.  I've had this sentiment stamp sitting on my desk for a while and I just love it so it was the first thing I picked out.  I decided to make a tag and had some pink paper that I used to make a background panel.  Now was the tough part but I realized I had some of the Kiss Kiss collection from Crate that just came in the mail (papers aren't here yet but I can't wait to get them) and I was able to pull in some arrows and a few chipboard hearts.  *phew*  Have I mentioned I can't wait to get my office back in some semblance of order?

Thanks so much for visiting today we'll see you back tomorrow for another theme day!  Please be sure to check out the other 4 ladies making of this wonderful group!

Valentines 5 for 5 - Day 3!

Hello friends and welcome to the Valentines 5 for 5 blog event!  Thanks to Donna and Rachel, we're back together for five days of Valentine inspiration!  Today's theme is glitter and I have a fun little project I put together to share with you.

Remember making these fun paper chains when you were a kid?  Well, I was at the store this past week and found a little kit to make paper chains that were pre-printed Valentine images.  (I can't wait to put those together to decorate the house this year!)  I thought it was a perfect idea once I unearthed this gold glitter paper in my office!  I cut the gold paper and some pink cardstock into 2"x8" strips, and glued them together to make this fun chain.  Totally brought back old memories of glue and elementary school!

Thanks so much for visiting today we'll see you back tomorrow for another theme day!  Please be sure to check out the other 4 ladies making of this wonderful group!

Valentines 5 for 5 - Day 2!

Hello friends and welcome to the Valentines 5 for 5 blog event!  Thanks to Donna and Rachel, we're back together for five days of Valentine inspiration!  Today's theme is pink and orange and I decided to go with a card.
I have a new collection of papers that have been sitting for a while and this was the perfect opportunity to use them!  I started off with a panel of patterned paper and added a greeting sticker, a Valentine banner, a couple of resin hearts, and some twine to finish it off.  I've been remodeling my craft room over the past couple of weeks and am having a hard time finding anything!  Luckily this paper collection was handy and came with all of the elements to make a card so I didn't have to find stamps to use!  :)

Thanks so much for visiting today we'll see you back tomorrow for another theme day!  Please be sure to check out the other 4 ladies making of this wonderful group!

Valentines 5 for 5 - Day 1!

Hello friends and welcome to the Valentines 5 for 5 blog event!  Thanks to Donna and Rachel, we're back together for five days of Valentine inspiration!  Today's theme is hearts and I have a fun little project I put together to share with you.
I found this cute little mailbox at Target in the $1 bin and thought it would be a perfect keeper for little love notes to my husband.  There are so many things he does that I know I don't thank him for and this will be perfect!  I covered the box with a strip of pink card stock and made a little pocket for the right side.  I punched several hearts out of patterned papers that have white backs (perfect for the little note) and tucked them into the pocket.
I finished the box with some chipboard hearts and other decorations and then added a banner to a pipe cleaner which made a perfect little mailbox flag.  I think he will love checking for this kind of mail!  :)

Thanks so much for visiting today we'll see you back tomorrow for another theme day!  Please be sure to check out the other 4 ladies making of this wonderful group of 5 - five for five for five?  :)
