Happy Mother's Day

Here is a card I made for this week's Mojo Monday challenge! What a fun sketch we had to follow - I recently dug out my Honey Pie paper pad and kept it out for this card, too! I love the springy feel to the papers and the stitching motifs are so pretty! I stamped the sentiment and the flowers from Because of You and added some paper pieced flowers for some more color. The card is finished off with two types of velvet ribbons - pink rickrack and pink crochet. Yummy!

Supplies: Stamps - Because of You (Verve), DP - Honey Pie Collection (Cosmo Cricket), Ribbons (May Arts), Card Stock - Chocolate Chip (SU!), Vintage Cream (PTI), Ink - Chocolate Chip (SU!), Foam Squares

OWH Blog Hop Winner...

(according to Random.org) is #70 - Ann who said "I love your card and the sentiment." Congratulations to you, Ann, and a big thanks to everyone who hopped along and left a comment!

I've popped Ann an email to get her address so I can send her goodies out!

Hello

Happy Saturday, friends! I'm so glad you joined me today for my Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge reveal! Today we celebrate round cards with this sketch -
I used my nesties to cut out two scalloped circles and scored one to make a hinge on the back. I prefer this method over cutting a piece of folded card stock because I like the scallops to go all the way 'round. And, to celebrate the tiny bit of spring that is in the air, I chose these delightful papers from Cosmo Cricket and a pale pink ribbon.

I decided to make my own embellishments this week and tried, for the first time, these rolled roses. I quite like how they turned out even though they stick out quite a bit from the card. I ended up cutting the bottom off so it would sit a bit closer. If you look very closely, you may be able to see the tiny pink pearls I nested in the center. This is not my original technique but I can't recall where I saw this done in my blog wanderings - many apologies to whoever inspired me!

With Love

Today I'm happy to share with you a card I made for the most recent Embellish Color Challenge. This time our challenge was to use the color palette provided and add music!
I raided my stash of Waltzingmouse Stamps (4 sets!) to make this pretty card starting with the musical stamped background and ending with the pretty label. I finished the card with some rolled roses I made and some shabby ribbon.

Supplies: Stamps - Musical Backgrounds, Faux Fun Circles, VV Labels 5, Fancy Phrases (WMS), Card Stock - Crumb Cake, Rose Red (SU!), Vintage Cream (PTI), Ink - Perfect Plum, Rose Red, Crumb Cake (SU!), Tea Dye Duo (PTI), Foam Squares, Ribbon (MemrieMere/Etsy)

Love Birds

I made this card for this week's Make it Monday at Papertrey Ink! The challenge this week is to distress and I had a lot of fun making this card! I embossed a cream panel with this great vintage postcard folder and distressed the edges with a tool and ink to give it an antique feel. I stamped the birds and sentiment onto a square and embossed the cage over the top with silver embossing powder.

I finished the card with some photo corners and some shabby ribbon to finish the aged look. I really wanted to give this muted colors and the feel that it had been siting in the attic for 50 years and faded with time.

Supplies: Stamps - Love Birds (PTI), Embossing Folder (Tim Holtz), Card Stock - Bravo Burgundy (SU!), Vintage Cream (PTI), Ink - Mellow Moss (SU!), Versamark, Tea Dye Duo (PTI), Foam Squares, Embossing Powder (American Crafts), Photo Corners (Michael's), Ribbon (MemrieMere/Etsy), Button (my stash)

Shine Brightly

Today I'm happy to share with you the card I made for this week's Papercraft Star color challenge! I love this springy palette and can't wait to see what you create with it!
You may have seen over the past few weeks how much I love to paper piece and this card is another one of my favorites! Any outline image stamp is perfect for this technique and all it takes is a bit of patience to cut out what you want to piece! I highly recommend giving piecing a try - I'm sure you'll love the results!

This card was made from the adorable new Lunar Lights set at Lawn Fawn. Lawn Fawn sets are perfect for piecing because they are usually large, outline images that lend themselves well to cutting. I selected Kioshi papers because they sing spring to me - I love the soft purples, greens, and apricots of this set! I coordinated purple twine and ink to finish the card and added some Stickles for a bit of shimmer! One last thing you'll see is that I've curved the sentiment to align with the ray stamp. As I've mentioned before, acrylic stamps are so flexible you can bend them pretty much any way you want to!

Have fun and don't forget to link up by Sunday!

Supplies: Stamps - Lunar Lights (Lawn Fawn), DP - Kioshi Collection (Basic Gray), Card Stock - Vintage Cream (PTI), Twine (May Arts), Ink - Basic Black, Perfect Plum (SU!), Foam Squares, Stickles

Thinking of You

Happy Tuesday, friends! Today I'm sharing a card I made for my mother-in-law who will likely have to have a minor surgical procedure soon. I think this will cheer her up, don't you?

This card was inspired by the Tuesday Trigger photo at Moxie Fab and I love the color combo Cath picked out this week! These blue-greens and peaches are absolutely gorgeous together!
I also used this week's Viva La Verve sketch - I was stumped at first but really like how that little circle adds so much pizazz to the final product!
I picked the amazing Earth Love papers for springy touch and the Verve Up, Up, and Away stamp set to create my little scene. I sure hope it cheers her up!

Supplies: Stamps - Up, Up, and Away, Accent Notes (Verve), DP - Earth Love Collection (Cosmo Cricket), Ink - Basic Black (SU!), Tea Dye Duo (PTI), Cuttlebug, Labels 10 (Spellbinders), Rhinestones (Recollections), Foam Squares, Shabby Ribbon (MemrieMere, Etsy)
