I Love You

Hello friends! Today's card is one I made for this week's Mojo Monday sketch! I am usually quite intimidated by all of the layers in these sketches but want to challenge myself more this year by trying things I normally don't.

I picked out some fun papers and one of my all-time favorite Verve sets, "Heart's Desire" to make this card! I tried a new trick with the tag - I masked off a tiny section of the tag with removable tape and stamped over it with the arrows which left the perfect amout of space to stamp the sentiment! Fun trick and easy peasy!

It is challenge time again at Papercraft Star! This week we have another fabulous sketch for you and the design team is using Copic markers and My Favorite Things stamps! I chose to flip the sketch on its side this week and made a fun engagement/wedding card.

I loved the "It Must Be Love" set the minute I saw it and thought it would be perfect with the springy papers of the Kioshi line! I added some Stickles to bling up the ring and a paper-pieced dress to the stamped image. Coordinating twine and a "Wish" charm finish off the card.

Vintage Hawaiian

Are you having fun traveling with me and Stampin' D'amour? Over the past few weeks, I've showed you vintage France and this week I'm showing you vintage Hawaii! I used the colors for this week's Throwdown and a replica luggage sticker to make this fun tag.


I started off with a manilla tag and embossed it with my woodgrain embossing plate. I was thinking old Polynesian canoe but the grain didn't show up very well. I aged the tag with some distress ink, fussy cut the flight attendant from the luggage sticker, added the stamped poster image, and finished off the tag with some gorgeous Hawaiian-themed ribbon I've had forever.

I Love You

Hello and welcome to one of the happiest days in my crafting career! I'm so excited to announce that I am a new Mischief Maker for Waltzingmouse Stamps!! I've admired Claire ever since I found her in 2009 and was over the moon to get the call to join her marvy team! Please stop by and give a shout out to another new MM, Jean Martin!Okay, back to business...I took this week's sketch and made a window card using a tag die from Spellbinders. I first layered the patterned paper over the card base and punched through both layers. I used the arrow stamp from Sweethearts to stamp around the frame, and added a cut-out heart to the front panel.
I stamped more hearts from the set on the interior panel along with the "I love you" sentiment. This was kind of a trial run and was so pleased with how it turned out, I'm going to give it to my hubby for Valentine's Day! It gets so hard to keep cards for him a secret but I don't think he checks the old blog out too terribly often. :)

Hello

Today I'm sharing a card I made for this week's Waltzingmouse sketch challenge. If you flip the sketch upside down, you can probably see my inspiration for the branch with the birdcage below it! I embossed the cage with silver powder, fussy cut some flowers and the bird from the Asian Gardens set and added photo corners to up the vintage factor. I used my new Tim Holtz embossing folder (love it!!) and some distress ink for the background. This was a fun card to make!

How cute is this Pure Innocence image? That little girl has me smiling every time I see her and boy did I love to swing when I was little - I couldn't pass up the chance to use her! I even used some Glossy Accents on her shoes to make them like a patent leather pair of Mary Janes I had! Cute stuff!

Season's Greetings

Christmas in February? Why, yes it is!! I had to live with myself after sending out store-bought Christmas cards last year because I had too much going on to make them all! If you had the same troubles, then the Waltzingmouse Christmas Card Challenge will be the perfect solution when the holidays roll around again (sooner than we'll all realize!)

Every month a new challenge theme will be announced in the forum and there are even prizes to be had!! If you participate in the challenges each month, and upload your creations to the special gallery, you will be entered into a GRAND PRIZE drawing at the end of the year. There will also be a prize drawing at the halfway point for those who have completed all 6 challenges and posted them in the gallery.

For January, the theme was "Recycle" so I've recycled some ribbon from a christmas package! Have fun and stash up those cards!
