Oh the Places You'll Go - PDCC 149

Hello friends!  Today is reveal day at The Play Date Cafe and we have a wonderful color story for you this week -
As soon as I saw this color combo, I immediately thought of the What's Up collection from Basic Grey.  I started off with a plum card base and layered one of the papers on top.  I stamped the little balloonist on top and then pieced the balloon with a coordinating paper from the collection.  I stamped the clouds and bird on the background and then used some Stickles on the clouds, added two brads, and finished the card with a chipboard banner.

Paper Made Bakery Sneak - LOVE

Hello friends!  Today is my day to post over on the Paper Made Bakery blog and I've got a sneak of the card you can see over there.

If you haven't had a chance to see the September "Old School" kit, I encourage you to check it out!  I'm in love with this kit and all of its possibilities!  I've made cards for both my father and brother with this kit (perfect for masculine cards) as well as more feminine cards.  I promise you'll love it!

God Bless You

Hello friends!  This week, The Craft's Meow is happy to sponsor the challenge over at Stampin' Sisters in Christ based on Romans 3:23-24 and requires the use of bright colors.

The "bright colors only"challenge was a bit tough for me as I usually like to craft using kraft and other neutrals but I sure had fun getting out some of these fun papers from Basic Gray.  I started with a blue background and stamped the butterfly from Beautiful Spring using embossing ink and then embossed it with white powder.  I stamped the rose and leaves from the same set onto some coordinating papers and then pieced them and added them to the card.  It is hard to tell int he photo but the center of the rose was pieced separately and then popped up using foam squares.  I finished the card with a sentiment from God's Blessings.

I really liked the verse selection today and the story from Jerusha about her kids.  No matter how many times we "mess up", God is right there willing to forgive us if we ask Him.  What a blessing, indeed!

Thanks for visiting today!

Stamps (TCM), DP - Konnichiwa collection (Basic Gray), Pearl (Recollections), Ink - Basic Black (SU!), Big and Bossy (Ranger), White Embossing Powder (SU!), Cardstock - Select White (PTI)

North Shore Summer

Happy Saturday, friends, and I hope you can play along with us this week at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge!  Check out the sketch this week inspired by a card from Anya.  I can't wait to see what you create with this beauty -
For whatever reason, that sketch was pure summer to me and I knew I wanted to use my new North Shore set.  I inked up the big image using green and blue inks, stamped it and then cut it out using a circle die.  I layered the white circle on to some indigo cardstock for some pop.  I stamped a blue-green card base with the circle pattern from Free Spirit Boy in white ink.  I finished the card with some hibiscus from Free Spirit that I colored with some Copic markers.

We're winding down our time in our city apartment and getting ready to move into our new home and we're beside ourselves with excitement.  The paint is finished and the carpet will be installed next week.  We're doing a deep clean on the tile and are hoping everything is ready for the big day in a couple of weeks.  I will have new projects for you throughout the month but will be taking a little break toward the end when I have to pack up and then find my craft supplies after the move.  I'm still trying to figure out what to bring in my "Open First" box of supplies.  Tough call!  :)

Thanks for visiting today!

Thank You - PDCC 148

Hello friends!  Today is reveal day at The Play Date Cafe and I'm so excited about this week's color story!  Aren't these colors just dreamy?!
I remembered just the perfect paper from my August Studio Calico kit - it is a stone background with a navy text, cut a panel, and used it on a navy card base.  I tied some peach silk ribbon in a big bow around the panel and added a few gems for some twinkle.  I wanted to bring more of the gray in and so I cut a gray circle and stamped the sentiment in navy ink.  I finished the card with a few feathers for some za za zu.  I just love how this turned out!!

This week we have a special guest designer and prize provided by none other than Tami Mayberry!  The winner will receive "Lighthearted Wishes" so be sure to link up by Tuesday for a chance at this wonderful prize!

Paper Made Bakery - Old School Kit Blog Hop!

Hello friends!  Today is a special day because it is new kit reveal day at Paper Made Bakery!  The September kit, "Old School" is full of wonderful goodies to make retro projects, back to school projects, and any other type of projects your heart desires!

I started this card off using one of the burnt orange card bases and layered one of the papers from the Cosmo Cricket pad on top.  The cardstock has such a lovely texture, I had to leave some open space so the recipient could see and feel it.  Love it!!  I took the library card that's included in the kit, cut it in half, and stamped one of the sentiments from the Stay Tuned stamp set in coordinating ink.  I took the little tv die cut and backed it with some of the cork and added one of the orange brads as a knob.  I finished the card with some twine and one of the mini clothespins from the kit.  Fun stuff!!

Now for the fun stuff - a giveaway!  Head over to our Rafflecopter giveaway for a chance to win some of the cork you see here today, some Lawn Fawn goodness, and other fun surprises.  The giveaway will end 9/5 and the winner will be announced on the PMB blog on Wednesday 9/6!

Thanks so much for visiting today and here is the rest of the hop order:
